The purpose of a parish council, in the words of Pope Paul VI, is “to examine and consider all that relates to pastoral work and to offer practical conclusions on these matters, so that the life and activity of the People of God can be brought into greater conformity with the Gospel” (Paul VI, Ecclesiae Sanctae I, no. 16). Thus, it will be the responsibility of the Council of the HS Church to carefully study and evaluate the pastoral issues presented to it and propose practical solutions which reflect Gospel values. After prayers and discernment, our Lord Jesus Christ called twelve disciples with whom he formed the apostolic council to continue to work of evangelization and salvation (Lk 6:12-13).

Holy Spirit & St. Mary Magdalen both have the following councils that contribute ideas and help run the church:

Parish Pastoral Council
Parish Finance Council
Liturgical Council
Safeguard the Children Committee
